panache: all that glitters

i would wear this dress and carry the ornament bouquet to my next holiday party, it’s so fabulous.

about the bouquet:

this merry creation is part of many other joyful and whimsical offerings from danish crafter, brittany watson jepsen – yet another woman who believes in the motto: “creative clutter is better than idle neatness.” (i am beginning to feel as if i should begin an organization of creative clutterers…)

hand-made felt snowball ornaments

i’m planning to make these little cuties for an upcoming gathering with girlfriends. this could also be a great activity for the kids – parents just be sure you’re the ones wielding the needle and scissors.

thank you purl soho, and your fabulous craft blog, for this idea. find purl’s instructions here.

burl ives, (have a) holly jolly christmas

this is the best time of the year for a reason. generosity, kindness, and joy is felt not only among family and friends, but even between perfect strangers. this morning, for example, i asked the clerk at whole foods how his day was going; he smiled and said:

“everyday i choose to have a good day; there’s much to be thankful for; positive energy is contagious, so i try and spread it ’round and keep smiling.”

i have to say, it brightened my day and reminded me of how each of us are in control of our own happiness. no matter what.

so by golly, find what makes you happy and share that positivity with the world. and from me, to you and yours: have a holly jolly christmas!
