from me to you and yours: happy thanksgiving! i hope you have a day full of laughter, warmth, joy, and moments of grateful reflection.
today’s holiday song reminds me of one of the many family memories for which i am most grateful: the annual pilgrimage to the christmas tree farm. we’d start with the hayride out into the field, spend some time traipsing around and “discussing” the best tree to take home – me, always wanting the small plump ones because they’re so cute (and lonely…) – and then finally, while our tree was being prepped for the ride home we’d enjoy a cup of hot chocolate with marshmallows. such a simple outdoor activity, with many memories.
